Microfield Graphics Softboard

This is an electronic board on with a serial port allows bitmapped images of handwritten text to be transferred to a computer and will be used in the classroom

ATM Access Switch with 1 FDDI and 12 Ethernet Ports and a Router

All the Ethernet lines from the wireless LANs and wireless bridges come into this central access point of the network. This access switch provides backbone connectivity and a network path between all the wireless LANs

The facilities of CWINS are supported and extended by the resources of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department. These include 38 DEC MIPS Unix Workstations, 12 DEC Alpha Workstations, 2 HP 9000 Workstations, 3 SUN IPX Workstations, 100 386/486 PCs, 1 MAsPar 1024 processor massively parallel computer. The ECE Dept. also maintains a complete network (thinwire Ethernet) running TCP/IP, Novell, DECNet, Pathworks protocols, with high-speed Internet access and has a well-equipped electronics shop with complete maintenance facilities and staff.
