A testbed was designed
and constructed for evaluating Harris Semiconductor's new Spread Spectrum
IEEE 802.11 wireless LAN chipset.
The testbed consists
of a real-time RF channel simulator, PC to generate and receive data, laptop
to control the evaluation module, and
RF equipment to
monitor the system. In order to assemble the testbed, two high speed (4Mbps)
16-bit ISA cards and supporting software
were designed to
interface to the PC and an RF interface was designed to connect the channel
simulator.
